Internet or digital marketing is gaining importance to a substantial extent as nowadays almost everything is shifting to online. So many people are trying to sell their products or provide services on internet. But it is estimated that 97% of them totally fail and do not earn even a single dime.
In this article I will discuss in detail the factors which are responsible for their failure in digital marketing.
Not sure what to start and where from.
In present world , the income opportunities on internet are endless. People confuse where to start from. One must know and understand fully what he/she has to do to earn money online.
Everybody is gifted with some skills but it is also an established fact that everyone is not best at everything. So, one has to carefully select the area of work and chose what he/she is best at.
Do not have knowledge of their market.
They do not know where the market for their products or services does exist. They have no knowledge of their audience or buyers who will listen to them and buy their products or services.
Actually, they have to explore the internet, learn and test things. Thereafter, they must shoot their message accordingly to a targeted group who are looking for a particular solution of their problems.
Have little or no knowledge of their business.

Do not have proper planning.
They do not set their business goals as what to achieve, how to achieve with required time period by working for few hours but daily making it a habit. They must have time management skills to devote time to each aspect of their business.
Most of people are working for first few months with enthusiasm but gradually losing interest eventually ending up with failure.
Copy marketing methods.
They are copying others and following a similar strategy. They forget that there is a different strategy for marketing different products. Their products or services need to be unique in the crowd and more satisfying than others to succeed.
At the same time, they need to understand their competitors and learn from the experts. They must follow some really good marketers not every Tom and Dick on internet.
Have no online credibility & popularity.
The buyers do not know them or their brand. There is a lack of trust in between. They have to build the online credibility and good reputation so that the buyers trust them and get ready to test their products or services.
Have only theoretical knowledge and do not implement what they learn.
Merely undergoing a marketing course and getting a certificate or a degree thereof or reading marketing material as available online, will not make anyone an internet marketer. They have to get full practical knowledge of doing things. They need to be trained rather than educated.
It is just like learning driving. If you have theoretical knowledge of driving a car, you cannot drive it unless and until you learn it practically getting inside the car, bringing gear to neutral, starting it, changing gear, leaving clutch gradually, increasing accelerator and going ahead, again making necessary applications and driving the car away with full confidence. If you stuck on 1st gear and do not learn how to change it, you will not go too far.
Same is applicable to internet marketing for any business model.
Not serious in their approach.
They do not give time and dedication to their business and wish to earn big profits in shortest time. In the name of internet, they are looking for a magic to happen.
In fact, they have to give same time and seriousness to it as they give to their offline jobs/business. Commitment in the process is vital to narrate your success story to others.
Do not search for right keywords.
They are not using accurate keywords to generate laser targeted traffic to generate sales. Semrush is a good free keyword research tool that you must give a try to improve your traffic.
Their websites are not designed professionally and do not contain useful content.
The content on their websites is not motivating and satisfying to convert people. Their websites are designed with a casual approach lacking in professional interface and other features.
They don’t write their sales page effectively. They create content for search engines and not people.
As a matter of fact, their websites should be search engine friendly in addition to providing useful content to the target audience.
Do not go for paid promotion initially and do not test what works.
They do not promote their business, even if they end up with creating eye-catching content. They should also test which promotion strategy works for them and stick to it.
Even if two different Google ads are made for the same product, they perform differently. Sometimes, Changing Headline brings a remarkable Conversion. So testing and finding is a trick to get success.
Do not keep track of their campaigns.
The failures do not keep track of their visitors and do not bother what they are doing on their website. They do not generate leads who may be their buyers later on using follow up strategies.
Lack in business automation tools.
They do not use accurate tools and techniques to automate their business. Those who use automation in their business see a dramatic increase in their sales.
Handle multi money making methods simultaneously.
They jump from opportunity to opportunity without sticking to one and mastering it. They must learn and master one thing at a time, start earning from it and then move to next one.
Handling so many money making methods does not allow them to be a master in either of them.
Do not take advantage of Social media.
Social media is a great online platform with huge earning potential. However, they do not have social media presence and never put efforts to establish their identity there. They do not bother to showcase their products or services to people active on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
Do not provide timely support to their visitors.
They do not reply to comments or questions raised by their audience to remove their confusion and misunderstanding and hence have weak customer support system. As are result the target audience runs away to other service providers.
Their sites are not Search Engine Optimized.
They do not drive much organic traffic to their sites. Their sites are not optimized and at the same time not mobile friendly also.
Lack of dedication and determination.
Those who fail don’t find much time to learn and build their online business. In fact it takes years together to build an internet business before it starts giving benefits.
Lack of communication skills.
They do not have business skills particularly the communication skills to put across their message to the visitors either through their websites or auto set emails or while replying to their queries.
An internet marketer should provide information in most simple language to explain most complicated or technical subject so that readers understand it easily and take benefit out of it.
They try very competitive niches.
They try products or services where many established sellers are already in market with great products and business skills. In fact, they should try niches where people are looking for a solution of their problems but not finding many services.
Here, they can do some research with regard to keywords, create a product or start a service and set up a website. Their website must be stunning one with killing content. After this comes promotion part to reach the right audience to reap good benefits.

Most of people while undergoing an online marketing course lose interest halfway and never complete it. Those who complete the course start learning marketing practically but give up in the way before they become experts.
